For the first time, one of the original Real People Productions scripts (written by my Dad and myself) will be presented on a new stage to the general public. The play SIGNING OFF is being produced and presented through BackStory at the Broomfield Community Center.
This play is the story of a live-radio program in the 1950s, struggling to stay on the air in the midst of the world being transformed by television. It includes live sound effects and progressives chaos.
SIGNING OFF was first produced on the Hyland Christian School stage in December of 2009. Tryouts for the Broomfield production begin this month and it will be directed by Anna Wilcox. The performances will be August 21st and 22nd with a possible third performance on the 20th. If there is a good turn-out, this could lead to future Real People scripts seeing the same stage in years to come.
